West Virginia University Potomac State College kicked off its 118th fall semester with its first day of classes Wednesday, Aug. 19. However, unlike any other fall semester in the College’s history, faculty, staff and students are navigating the global COVID-19 流感大流行. The campus community is dealing with a different environment including mitigating classroom, dining and study area capacities; rerouting foot traffic in buildings and implementing new protocols such as wearing masks – both inside and outside – and physically distancing, among other precautionary measures.

During this event, the College will honor Alumnus Ken Ward Jr., for his 2020 Scholars Wall induction. The ceremony was canceled spring 2020 due to the 流感大流行. The Alumni Association will also recognize the recipients of the Young Alumni Achievement Award, the Lifetime Alumni Achievement Award and the Outstanding Service Award, all honors that would have been recognized during the fall 2020 homecoming banquet. At the same time, the College will celebrate the induction of the 2021 Alumni Scholars Wall Honoree.

The Apprenticeship Pathway Degree Program at WVU will complement the well-established technical training participants receive during their apprenticeship training programs.

布鲁克Devlin, a recent graduate of WVU Potomac State College, is following her passion by completing a degree in geology on the Morgantown campus.  Devlin realized her love for geology while hiking in Yosemite Valley, 这里显示, located in Yosemite National Park in the western Sierra Nevada Mountains of California.

West Virginia University Morgantown and WVU Potomac State College Alumnus 汤姆的封面 was recently appointed as the new director of the West Virginia Division of Forestry by Governor Jim Justice.

Kista Crites, a recent graduate of the College, was an active and engaged student 在校园里. Now as an alumna, she’s still helping out and stepping up by branding and customizing an extra, extra, extra-large mask with WVU logo and 爪子颜色. The College is conducting a “maskot” campaign asking faculty, staff and students to share who they wear their masks for during the COVID-19 流感大流行. PAWS wears a mask to keep the entire campus community safe. 米歇尔 Labar is the seamstress who created the mask for PAWS.
